AL should have made pitchers hit, I remember back in the day there were so many relief pitchers that got a hit to extend or win the game, there was a lot more strategy back then from start to finish.Kal-El wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 3:55 pmYES!!!!yorktownjoe wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 3:04 pm I heard someone briefly mention this, but I missed it.
Throwing baseballs at an opposing player is dumb, unless they threw one at one of your players unprovoked.
This is why pitchers should have to bat. Throw at one guy unprovoked. And YOU Mr. Pitcher get one off the butt cheek.
The "doer of the deed" should be the recipient of the return welt on the butt cheek.
If someone throws a curveball and accidentally nicks someone, there should not be retaliation. That's dumb.
But if people throw head high and inside, one warning for that team for the rest of the game. Anything up and inside = ejection for whoever is pitching from that team the rest of the game.
You shouldn't strike a player for admiring a home run.
Simply strike him out and make him look like a fool the next 2 at bats.
Still ticked that the NL went to the DH, pitchers should always have to hit.

Absolutely! Part of the greatness of the big three for the Braves back in the day was Glavin, Smoltz and Maddux all new how to handle a bat really well it wasn't just an automatic out every time.Train wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2024 11:18 amAL should have made pitchers hit, I remember back in the day there were so many relief pitchers that got a hit to extend or win the game, there was a lot more strategy back then from start to finish.Kal-El wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 3:55 pmYES!!!!yorktownjoe wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2024 3:04 pm I heard someone briefly mention this, but I missed it.

Re: The Breakroom
Just curious, you work on a lot of semi's right? Are you seeing any electric semi's or self driving semi's come through?

Re: The Breakroom
Just a palooka who does not work in this industry chiming in:
I believe electric semis are a California drug dream. If people did the math on the weight the batteries would take, they would realize no semi could ever pass a weigh station. (And that type of excess weight would destroy the roads it drove on. So any air quality savings would be negated by the net effect of repaving 3 times as often as currently.)
Not to mention the electrical grid could not sustain thousands of semis all trying to charge every single day for eternity...
I don't think I missed a memo about 100 new nuclear power plants being built or repaving all highway and road surfaces with hybrid woven carbon fiber mesh.

Re: The Breakroom
But please, feel free to come down to Waldenbooks to purchase a copy of my upcoming new book: "Unsustainable Progress." A journey of promoting "progress" to simpletons who are bad at math and science. Then using social media to convince people it could actually work.
You'll know which Waldenbooks I'm at from the silver DeLorean parked out front.
