Barry Corbin was born in 1940 in Lamesa, Texas. He tried football in middle school but enjoyed performing arts better. Corbin went to Texas Tech, joined the Marine Corps and came back to finish his schooling at Texas Tech. Corbin started acting in 1960 and the next 64 years would lay down a remarkable career. Corbin is still acting and has appeared in recent shows like Yellowstone, Better Call Saul, and Young Sheldon. Over the years he has made appearances in shows like The A-Team, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, and M.A.S.H. Among the many shows he has appeared on Corbin has had several main characters like Sheriff Fenton Washburn on Dallas, Maurice Minnifield on Northern Exposure, Coach Durham on One Tree Hill, and Dale the Vet on The Ranch. His career was not limited to TV as he was in several movies on the Big Screen. In 1980 he struck gold performing in 3 hit movies Urban Cowboy, Stir Crazy, and Any Which Way You Can. Working with legendary actors like John Travolta, Richard Pryor, Gene Wilder, and Clint Eastwood helped launch his career in film. Corbin would go on to star in films like Six Pack, WarGames, Who’s Harry Crumb, No Country For Old Men, and All Saints. Just a handful of his work over the decades. Corbin is one of those guys who has been around and played a lot of rolls but keeps a pretty low key profile. I loved his character in One Tree Hill, that was one of favorite shows at the time. Corbin is just a great actor and brings a lot to the table. I hope he can keep going and give us some more great performances. In his spare time he rides his horses and tends to cattle on his range in Texas. Have a great week everybody.
